Here’s the video from GSC Night surf to raise money for charity (Mind Guernsey) and for the GSC. A special thanks to IAG for sponsoring the entire event by covering all costs and for doubling the donation for charity and the club. Cams Hire – supplying the lights. ‘Tom Hook’ travelling to the the World Junior Surfing Championships as part of the CISF team.

13-year-old Guernsey surfer, Tom Hook, is heading off to California next week to represent the Channel Islands in the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships. The competition is being held at the renowned break of Huntington Beach. Tom, who will be competing in the Under 16s age category, will be joined by four Jersey boys to surf against the world’s best. This is the second time Hook has represented the Channel Islands at world level, having surfed at the World Juniors in Hyuga, Japan last year, earning his ranking of 81st in the world.

The schedule for the event will be as follows*:

October 27 – Opening Ceremony at 10am, Main St. and Pier Plaza
October 27 – Competition to commence at 3pm, Huntington Beach Pier south side
October 28 – November 4 – Competition at Huntington Beach Pier south side, 7:30am – 5pm
November 4 – Closing Ceremony after competition
*Schedule subject to changes. All times in Pacific Standard Time.

Night Surf

Saturday 13th the GSC will be running a Night Surf Centres @ 8pm

The night surf open to GSC Members Only and £5 Entry fee on the night, money raised from this event will be split 50/50 between a charity and the GSC club funds.

If your not currently a paid up member renew now at guernseysurfclub.com.

A big thanks to IAG (international administration group (Guernsey) limited), are paying for the lights and are supplying the high vis jackets and a big chunk of glow sticks.

Please arrive by 8pm for safety briefing ready to get in the water at 8.30pm, the event will run to 11.30ish depending on the tide.

This will be a great fun evening for surfers and spectators – see you all there 🙂
