I first came across this character through Jimmy O’Keefe (frequent visitor to Guernsey’s shores) the then Editor of the surf mag I was working for. We were putting together the 200th issue of the mag and the intention was to celebrate people in Australian surfing who were often overlooked by the mainstream surfing media. As a resident of The Sunshine Coast Jimmy had know Glenn for years and regularly told stories of this fantastic lunatic who lived way up North in 1770, created these beautiful outlandish shapes and just when you were sat there shaking your head and confidently proclaiming that there was no chance they’d go he’d prove you wrong by riding the hell out of them. He shapes asymetric shapes with totally different rail profiles for the forehand and backhand, and that’s not even the weird stuff. Check out the gallery and marvel at the sheer genius of the man. In a world of homogenised design the world needs more people like Glenn Cat.
